Working towards completing my first CPE (Clinical Pastoral Education) unit

Approaches every interaction with a continuous improvement mindset, seeking to not only resolve, but mitigate inconveniences for both patients and staff.

This role involves working under Chief Development Officer (CDO) and closely with the COO and the CFO. At Stallant Health, we are seeking ways to improve our ability to provide accessible quality healthcare to our patient demographic (which includes both Medi-cal and privately covered patients) and are actively exploring various opportunities to accomplish our goals. My duties include providing recommendations and suggestions, providing relevant market insights, and contacting external parties to assist us when needed.

Worked in the referrals department to improve the implimentation of the CMED referral program. CMED (ConferMed) is a referral system that connects patients with a network of specialists who work closely with a designted internal provider to asses patient health concerns. My responsibilities included determining patient eligibility, submitting referrals to Stallant Health's CMED specialist, and following-up on appointments. Thanks to the work of our CMED referral team, the program has been helping qualifying patients to experience specialist care in an a speedy maniner. In addtion, some patients whose insurances do not cover for certain specialist visits have been able to get the necessary medical attention through this referral program.

Provided front-desk assistance to patients and clinic staff at Stallant Health. Stallant is a rural, multi-specialty clinic that provides medical care to as many as 800 patients per week. We are contracted with various medical insurance plans including Kaiser, Anthem Blue Cross, United Healthcare, Medi-Cal, and others. My responsibilities included managing phones, checking-in, scheduling and canceling patient appointments, and fostering a professional atmosphere in the lobby area. The front desk team relied heavily on electronic health records and communication systems such as AthenaHealth, Solution Reach, AnswerConnect, and HIPPA compliant emailing. In addition to interacting with patients, I worked closely with the providers and clinical staff to communicate and address patient needs.

Interned in the in the Adminstrative Office at Stallant Health. Mainly assisted the COO of the clinic in responding to on-site concerns, processing insurance claims, and performing provider mid-level provider audits. I also did medical dictations for one of our doctors when his assistant was traveling. As a result of this internship, l gained insights on how to run rural clinic that is compliant with government and insurance regulations.

Responsibilities include organizing deaf programming that cater to the needs of the children of deaf culture. This includes hearing children of the deaf, deaf children, and other friends of the deaf.
