Melissa is an experienced design strategist, facilitator, and innovator. With expertise in human-centered design and strategic foresight research methods, her superpower is creating sustainable products and services that meet people’s real needs. She worked as a public servant for several years before moving into the financial services industry, and has found her way home again working with governments at Code for Canada. Her work experiences have afforded her unique insight into the systemic opportunities for designers to contribute a positive impact on the services that people depend on. Melissa is driven by a need to understand why things are the way they are, and how we might make things better for people. She is a deeply curious person whose research abilities and attention to detail, combined with a degree of comfort navigating ambiguity, help her make sense of complex, human challenges, and generate innovative solutions.
