In 2012 Mihai cofounded EFdeN and for more than 9 years lead the team of more than 600 young people forming multi-disciplinary teams that designed and built 2 of world’s most sustainable houses. Under his leadership, more than 300 companies supported the project with a cumulated budget of more than 3 million euros. EFdeN participated in the world’s most important international competition for green homes - Solar Decathlon (Versailles 2014, Dubai 2018), winning over 40 national and international awards. The first EFdeN house (2014) became Romania’s first Research Centre for Comfort Conditions. The second house (2018) became the most sustainable LEED certified building in Europe, scoring 105 points. Mihai was also the cofounder and leader of energiaTa which successfully created Romania’s biggest prosumers community (22k people now) and changed the law to make household renewable energy production a reality in Romania. Previously Mihai had worked with the local Green Building Council in cocreating the National Renovation Strategy. He was also one of the Romanian Presidency’s group leaders on the Green Schools Strategy.Mihai is deeply involved in numerous educational and climate related initiatives, being a strong supporter of Sustainable Development Goals. He delivered hundreds of hours of trainings, workshops and speaking sessions from children to youngsters and established professionals.He is certified as: LEED Green Rater, LEED AP Homes, PHI Passive House Designer, Living Future Institute Accredited ProfessionalHe won individually or collectively more than 50+ national and international awards. At the beginning we were just a few people with the purpose of creating a sustainable house, but in time it became a Romanian top NGO about sustainability having more than 10 projects related to education for students and professionals, green buildings, electric mobility, smart cities.We participated in 2 editions of the most important competition for solar homes Solar Decathlon, in 2014 in Versailles, France and 2018 in Dubai, UAE getting, win won for 2 times the national competition for Europe Climate Kic. Over 600 students and researchers strongly worked together in the last yeasr to develop all our programs, putting over 200.000 hours of volunteer work. We convinced over 300 companies to support our mission and fulfill the 3.000.000 Euro estimated budget for the project Accomplishments:▪ won over 40 national and international awards in the last 7 years becoming one of the most awarded NGOs in Romania▪ we designed and built one of the most sustainable houses in Europe▪ 4C (2014) become Romania’s first Research Center for Comfort Conditions▪ Signature (2018) was rated the highest LEED building in Europe with 105p▪ developed the first solar charging station for electric cars▪ developed a Solar tree to generate electricity and internet in communities▪ worked with and trained over 1000 students and researchers to develop all our programs.▪ over 150.000 people touched by the projects we developed

Coordinator Of Romania'S Application To Host Solar Decathlon World Competition
In October 2020, I was responsible for Romania's application to host the 2023 European edition of the world's best competition for sustainable homes - Solar Decathlon. For this I assembled a team of 19 diverse professionals and together we delivered magic, winning the bid and being nominated to host this life-changing competition in Romania. We had to deliver a concept, choose the right location, create the budget and prove we can achieve this amazing mission after 3 previous participations in the Solar Decathlon competition. We passed with flying colours. In the summer of 2023, around 20 teams which are going to be selected, will assemble their sustainable homes in Romania and get scored on 10 contests. Romania Green Building Council is member of World Green Building Council - an association of businesses and other active Romanian organizations that promotes environmental responsibility and energy efficiency in fields such as: design, constructions, technology. PRISPA was the fist Romanian team ever to participate to the Solar Decathlon. The competition’s purpose is to design and build a fully solar energy efficient home, which can be assembled within the space of 14 days. All the teams that got qualified (18 from 14 countries) were scored on 10 contests, from architecture to engineering, communication or industrialisation. Accomplishments:▪ 2nd in Energy Efficiency Contest▪ 4th on Electrical Energy Balance Contest▪ 2nd at Public Choice Award. ▪ 9th place out of 18 General▪ the most interdisciplinary approach experience until that moment (10 domains)
