The Bureau of Fearless Ideas is a place where young people learn to use words to author their future. I entered as a learner in third grade. Enamored by the community, culture, and experiences I gathered at the BFI, I committed myself to continue attending and working with the organization as I grew older. I have now grown to be an active member, designing new workshops, events, and occasionally teaching them. In the past year, I’ve organized a career fair for high schoolers, helped run summer camps, and occasionally taught at workshops. From drawing a purple robotic octopus submarine with a mohawk for second graders, to assisting in a workshop for writing Op-Eds with Fred Hutch, the BFI has offered me a myriad of experiences within the broad field of writing.

Led students in setting up blood drives, starting in 2023, the first at Shorecrest High School in many years. Advocated and publicized the blood drive, introducing 30+ first time blood-donors.

Director for HS Track 1; a committee made to introduce high schoolers to Model United Nations. Work included preparing for conferences through research, writing, and educator training.

Chair for United Nations Committee on Trade and Development; running a committee at Seattle Model United Nations Conference.
