I excel at providing executive support, while creating the space and opportunities for others to shine. I pride myself on confidentiality and reliability.I started out in church administration and charitable works right after leaving high school. For over 10yrs, I worked with the Administrator of the RC Cathedral in Guyana. Simultaneously, I managed the Carhedral's feeding program, which fed hundreds of the elderly and children daily, and provided aid to dozens of families in need weekly.Moving into tertiary education was a natural fit. A student of social construction and change, the university was an ideal place to stir up critical thought and action in the field of communication. I engaged my students in discussions of evolving theories, steered their research and taught them the practical application of policies. Course development and professional/technical exchanges were additional opportunities.Always having an interest in foreign affairs, it was a natural fit to lead the diplomatic office of the Embassy of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta as the Officer-in-Charge / Chargé d'affaires a.i.; representing the embassy at diplomatic engagements and in negotiations on behalf of the Order. I also administered the embassy's education fund which provided scholarships to a dozen children at the primary level.Since leaving Guyana, I've worked in administration and accounting in the retail and customer service industries. In the last 10yrs, I’ve switched gears to communication and labor relations in the public health sector; working in NYC’s, and the US’ largest, public healthcare system.My community engagement comes through my involvement in Toastmasters International as a leader at the club, area, division and district levels. I am currently a Distinguished Toastmaster in District 83 where I’ve served multiple times on conference committees and executive councils.
