I would perform many hours of psychoeducational outreach programs often for UC Davis students. These programs were aimed at reducing students stress and inform them on how to be more mentally healthy (i.e., yoga instruction, a stress reduction tips program, etc.).

As a student I was enrolled in several internships, including peer counseling and working in psychology research labs. I also did work on my own original research which was apart of my honors thesis. I wrote on how to most effectively reduce prejudice against lesbians and gay men.

In this research assistant position my most primary goals were centered on participant recruitment for several studies focusing on lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) identity. I would outreach to many LGBT groups to procure participants for online studies and would work with campus organizations to recruit LGBT participants. In addition to participant recruitment, I often worked on editing questionnaires and administering a study that included an implicit association test (IAT) for LGBT individuals.

• Collected data from gay men and lesbians about internal sexual stigma using implicit association tests and written scales. • Facilitated data collection from samples from campus clubs and social media for studies about misgendering among transgender individuals as well as misidentification gay and straight men.
