“The one without whom we would be toast.” I’m both a thinker and a doer. My superpower is integration: taking visions, thoughts and ideas and turning them into outcomes. I help individuals and organizations engineer solutions to difficult problems through information sharing and relationship building. I work closely with many different organizations, individuals and committees, and I enjoy the ability to create meaningful connections through my work. The quote above is from one of my committee members as he was reflecting on the success of the AIAA SciTech Forum. It makes me laugh, but I truly appreciate the compliment. My skills include broad DoD knowledge – gained from managing AIAA’s DEFENSE Forum and from working with the national security community at AFCEA. Communications, engagement and leadership are key to my role, and are crucial to developing and implementing growth strategies. I learned multi-tasking and prioritization skills early on in my career when managing multiple proposals and deadlines. Adaptability and calmness in high-stress situations has come from many years of programs and events. I can tell you some great stories about missing speakers, natural disasters and fire alarms, to name a few nerve-wracking times. My passion is creating connection. In my career, I’ve done this by creating and marketing programs that address the current and future needs of the aerospace and defense community. This zeal continues in my personal life as a volunteer ESOL teacher for adults – I’m committed to connecting my students to better opportunities through improving their English skills. I enjoy meeting new people and learning new information – and I love fun facts and corny jokes.
