Working as a consultant, Tobias was part of a group that introduced Semcon to a new market. That included defining sales strategies, participation in customer meetings and other networking events. As a specialist, Tobias developed an inspection system that was integrated in an automatic grinding machine.Achievements:• Developed an inspection system used for quality control of a grinding machine.• Participated in sales activities.

Working as a machine vision specialist with a focus on planning and executing product development in the product range PreEye Solutions. Tasks included designing machine vision solutions, planning work, developing and testing products.Achievements:• Introduced 3D surface data analysis and image analysis is to Kiruna Softcenter AB that allowed for new application areas. This resulted in new products as PreEye Volume, PreEye Positioning and improved versions of PreEye Sorting Solutions.• Designed the machine vision algorithms that are a foundation to the PreEye Volume solution, which measures load volume in wagons with an approximate error of 2 %.• Been part of a project running for 2 years with the aim of more profitable and energy efficient material handling when transporting material by trains. In the later parts of the project, multivariate statistics was used to explain and gain knowledge of the loading process. This allows for improved loading procedures to achieve high loading rates and ensuring that loading regulations as weight of wagons are met.• Supervision of Master’s student Elias Näslund thesis work titled “Evaluation of a TOF camera for industrial use”.

• Implementation of classifier design in Matlab that allows analyzing data to find statistically significant features to implement robust and accurate classifiers.• Analyzing data to investigate if there exists relationships in a multivariate data set.

The Ph.D work contributes to the field of machine vision and the theory of the sampling of particulate material on conveyor belts. The objective was to address sources of error relevant to surface-analysis techniques when estimating the sieve-size distribution of particulate material using machine vision.

• Conducted a study on audio classification and content description.• The focus on the thesis was on how to discriminate audio between speech and music.• An environment was implemented in Matlab to allow development and testing different audio classification algorithms.
