Entrepreneurship is my passion. It already started in the early 1990s, as I watched my uncle’s venture to establish a plastics recycling company. It’s an experience that stuck with me – witnessing his successes as well as his challenges.I was inspired by his hands-on mentality. However, I decided to first gain a sound knowledge in physics and technology before starting my professional career. The pursuit for understanding the detail, the rationale behind the things, became one of my key characteristics. While working in the New Technologies Team at IHI Corp. I’ve been able to make good use of my knowledge, as I had to support the business development from a technical perspective.During the last nine years at IHI Corp., I continuously widened my horizon and developed towards a real intrapreneur. While heading the Application Dept. it was my task to support the customer with technical expertise and to continuously improve business processes. The latter seems easy, but it is a real challenge to sustain the change. However, I am tenacious…Besides my professional career, I combined entrepreneurship and my enthusiasm for aviation. I started a small business in the pilot training area. Credibility and trustworthiness, at any time, are key in this industry.Coincidentally, as I completed my MBA program recently, I am dealing with plastics recycling again. The circle closes and my venture begins.
