Graduate Student - Master ThesisDetour Gold Corporation Apr 2011 - Dec 2011Ontario, CanadaField work included core logging, lithological descriptions and structural interpretation.The scope of this study was to establish possible spatial links between lithology, structure, styles of veining, alteration, and mineralization within the Detour Lake deposit by detailed core logging, petrographic investigation of polished thin sections, and whole rock geochemistry. A further objective was to provide more detailed information on possible controlling parameters and characteristics of Au mineralization pertinent to mineral processing including mineralogy, size, distribution and mineral association. This was carried out using a mineral liberation analyzer (“MLA”). At the end, a refined deposit model was created.
