My work as a freelance developer mainly involved designing and implementing whole projects.I worked on project websites for the Technical University of Denmark. These sites involved file sharing, email lists and conference registration with credit card payments.A later project for the Technical University of Denmark involved designing and implementing a student and course database with a web frontend. This project also included installing and maintaining a server environment for the system.I have worked with Primo Entertainment, a company working in the music industry. My work here involved developing a realtime system for gathering audience feedback to a concert event. The system recorded the "loudness" of the chears and gave a score. Part of the project was implementing the visual feedback on large sized LED displays with relatively low resolution.

The work at Theilgaard Mortensen as an IT consultant involved a broad range of tasks primarily in the field enterprise E-commerce. Working as a backend and frontend developer i have been closely involved in the entire process from design to implementation. As part of this process i have worked closely with the clients to better understand their business needs.During my time at Theilgaard Mortensen A/S I have worked on the following projects among others:  • Gyldendal Uddannelse  • BestSeller  • INCO Denmark  • APOTEK1 Norway  • Bogportalen.dkThe following are some of the the more interesting challenges faced during these projects:  Caching with Akamai, Varnish and DynaCacheWith E-commerce solutions it is highly desirable to have fast response times. As part of one of the the projects I have designed and implemented caching strategies on multiple levels, from server side caching with Varnish and DynaCache to global caching using Akamai.  Interaction with resource constrained systemEnterprise E-commerce solutions usually involve communication between multiple back-office systems, like inventory / availability and product information management systems. This can result in bottlenecks hampering the user experience as legacy systems might not scale with demand. To alleviate this problem I have designed and implemented asynchronous loading strategies and additional caching layers.  Utilizing client browsersCatalog browsing is one of the primary areas of an E-commerce site. To facilitate fast and seamless browsing I have designed and implemented client side catalog browsing and product search with faceted filtering.
