Deployed three time to Iraq for Operation Enduring Freedom for a total of 22 months in theater. As the Digital Wide Band Section Chief Responsibilities included supervising the 15 Marines of the section in the repair and Maintenance process of the Squadrons 8 AN/TRC-170s the backbone of the Squadrons Communication structure that provides data and phone service pipeline to long distance sites. As the Maintenance Chief for the Squadron for OIF III responsible for the Safety, Training and welfare for a 60 man platoon. Coordinated the Maintenance effort for a network that supported thousands of users for data and phone requirements over an area spanning several thousand miles.

Attended Advanced Electronics Course (AEC) Electronics maintenance technicians are qualified to perform complex diagnosis, repairs, and modifications to ground data/radio communications systems. These technicians supervise ground data/radio communications maintenance activities and instruct in the use and repair of ground data/radio communications systems. Typical duties include supervision of a maintenance section or shop, coordination of equipment evacuation for repair with other maintenance activities, requisitioning of parts, and monitoring maintenance reports. These technicians also provide technical assistance during the employment and installation of data/radio communication systems.

Responsibilities included training reservist on their active duty weekends and guiding them in the proper repair and troubleshooting of Communications Electronics equipment. Ensuring Quality of workmanship to include proper documentation of repairs and the maintenance process.

Marine Corps Communicaitons Electronic School (Mcces)

Attended the Marine Corps Communication electronics School trained in Basic Electronic, Radio Fundamentals and Microwave transmission. These schools teach basic circuit trouble shooting to the component level on systems that are the backbone of the Marine Corps Communication capabilities. The goal is to give students basic circuit troubleshooting skills to build on at their next assignment to be able to repair electronic equipment in an expeditionary environment.

Worked for two companies during this time period. Mowing lawns and landscaping and painting houses. Had numerous positions from General Laborer to crew supervisor. Responsibilities included making sure crew was on time with all equipment, Start/stop times were recorded and any work that could not be completed was recorded, make sure crew had all proper safety equipment i.e. hearing/eye protection and proper gloves/footwear.

Starting position Assistant Gunner - Responsibilities include making missiles are properly secured and TOW weapons system was properly installed. Assist gunner with turret maintenance.Gunner- Maintenance of turret and weapon system properly identify tanks though day sight and nights sight as enemy or friendly and train a-gunner to take position as future gunner. Vehicle Commander - Responsible for the safety and welfare of four man crew. Effectively deploy LAV to best support commanders intent and over all mission. Attached to 2 Marine Expeditionary Units during this time and participated in Operation Continue Hope in Somalia.
