Commander - Inter-local Drug Task Force. I was given the opportunity to command a nearly defunct, bankrupt and severely understaffed task force in 2019. Through collaboration and relationship building with legal staff, law enforcement executives, Federal partners and remaining task force staff we worked hard and lead the team through rebuilding and re-imagining the task force as a contemporary and relevant tool valued by local, state and Federal law enforcement partners and regional community stakeholders. With renewed confidence in “the mission”, member agencies re-committed staff making the task force one of the largest and most accomplished in the State of Washington to combat the effects of violent cartel activity impacting the Western United States. These efforts were affirmed and recognized by the Western States Information Network when they named the task force the 2022 Task Force of the Year for our region.
