As an Advisory Systems Engineer (Oracle Infrastructure Specialist), I am a pre-sales technical professional that works cross-functionally and collaboratively with Oracle and Dell’s sales teams to bring subject matter expertise of our mutual technologies and solutions into sales campaigns. In this role, I work closely with Dell account teams on opportunities involving Oracle workloads. In this role, I represented EMC and then Dell at the Oracle Solutions Center, designing enterprise solutions for Oracle databases and applications utilizing Dell solutions. I provided customers with an overview and live demonstrations of EMC and Dell Technologies hosting Oracle software products. These live demonstrations were tailored to the customer’s use case. They included Dell & EMC products such as Symmetrix (VMAX & PowerMax), SRDF, TimeFinder, VPLEX, PowerFlex, and PowerEdge; and Oracle software such as Oracle Database, RAC, Data Guard, Oracle Linux, Oracle ASM. These demonstrations focused on high availability, disaster recovery, and replicating large mission-critical databases that customer businesses relied upon. I advised customers regarding architectural best practices including performance and availability and worked closely with account teams to design and implement solutions for customers’ specific use cases.
