As a staff engineer, I've made key contributions to multiple projects. Some examples are:- industrial (MES) system migration into the new generation of Oracle DBMS and clustering architecture. My job was to assess the general structure of the legacy product (10 years of development, ~5000 (five thousand) Oracle Forms), to coordinate the participating teams (Oracle, network, Linux, storage), and to make key changes to allow the product to run successfully on the upgraded DBMS and be clustered. Successfully drove the project to the end, with the customer fully satisfied. (Oracle Forms, PL SQL, Java, Python.)- development team leadership in a state-level custom development contract. Pinpointed performance problems and led the team through to the release. (Ruby, Rails, MongoDB, performance tools).- development of a proof-of-concept for a new product for cloud automation. The Software solutions division team (with a headcount 200-300) successfully crunched about 40 diverse projects yearly with annual revenue of over US$30M. Most of the projects included a full lifecycle from requirements gathering to software design to implementation to delivery to maintenance. The division included domain analysis, architecture and software development, Q&A, project/product management, DevOps, and business development departments. As a manager, I assumed technical and business leadership, team building and motivation, ensured timely deliveries, and resolved problems and crises, both internal and customer-facing.My job was also to evaluate projects' practices and promote best practices into the technical and organizational policies. Designed Cloud-as-a-Service architecture. Developed proof-of-concept mini-implementation. Led a high-performance computing facility through the entire lifecycle from datacenter construction to design and procurement to deployment and full utilization of the facility.Hired and led a team of engineers and developers for a high-performance cluster and 3D visualization cave. Adopted a set of legacy applications to use massively parallel computing.(Linux, clustering, Infiniband networking, SAN, C++, MPI/OpenMP, domain-specific tools).

Led a startup company through first software development projects on the Japanese market. The projects enabled the first contracts to be successfully closed. Hired, trained, and led a distributed (Moscow and Tokyo) engineering team, and doubled as a project manager.

Built a team and led two products' development. The firewall and the VPN went through a lifecycle of releases, certifications, deployment, and support at dozens of clients’ sites with thousands of instances deployed.
