Toby died in January 2022, but not before documenting his trip around the Shipping Forecast so we’ll that his sister Katie could finish his book (even though he never imagined she would). I have recently joined the architecture team at Falmouth University, teaching on our RIBA accredited 3 year BA(hons) degree programme and moving my kayaks closer to the coast. From our wild and beautiful location in the heart of Cornwall, the course is rooted in environmental design, sustainable building and responsible making. As a qualified architect with over 10 year experience in designing and managing successful projects for a leading ecological design consultancy, I bring a wealth of knowledge to the role as well as my unique experience and connection to the coastal settlements of the UK and our closest European neighbours.
