I am a freelance playwright, theatre director and creative practitioner, specialising in work for family audiences and in educational contexts. I am particularly interested in the impossible and the daft. Recent work includes Minotaur for Bristol Old Vic, Pinocchio for the Berry Theatre, Hedge End, A Christmas Carol for Lakeside, Nottingham, Jack and the Beanstalk for Southwark Playhouse, The Last Days of Mankind for Bristol Old Vic and Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, Arabian Nights for Watermill, Newbury, The Wind in the Willows for Polka, My Secret Garden for Roustabout and Tea Time for Oxford Playhouse. My production of The Comedy of Errors for Bristol Old Vic Theatre School had a sell out run in Edinburgh this summer, presented by Take Thou That Theatre Company. I am currently devising and directing War Game, about the Christmas Day football match across No Man's Land, for Bristol Old Vic this autumn, based on Michael Foreman's award winning novella, and preparing for The Great Big Story Mix Up, an improvised storytelling show for young audiences in which I perform, also for Bristol Old Vic.
