I have worked on a number of public realm and infrastructure projects both in the UK and abroad. I have a range of graphic skills and am well versed in using 3-Dimensional modelling software such as Sketch Up, 3Ds Max, VRay, AutoCAD. My ability to create two and three dimensional graphics using a combination of desktop publishing and image manipulation packages helps to communicate designs to a wider audience​.I believe it is not about the tools that we use that makes a good designer, anyone can watch an online video tutorial to learn the right software. A good designer can create and communicate their ideas using their enthusiasm and ability to paint a picture in the audience’s mind. Having come from a landscape architecture background, it has taught me that inspiration can come from anything and design is not fixed to a discipline or industry. For me inspiration can come from anywhere, whether it is something I have read in Computer Arts or an idea I have had from watching TV with my children. It is this philosophy that has led me into such a varied career. It is my unique career path that has given me the skills that has made me an individual within my current team. I love the variety of the projects I work on. For example, recently I helped the Digital Development team create an innovative application for public consultation. Another project was helping the graphic designers to create a memorable presentation for Clients pitching to the BBC. On occasion, I have been brought into a project to solve a problem the team is having with special planning or how to realise a design in physicality. Finally, I believe as a designer it is my job to create what the Client wants not what they ask for. The reason they have come to me for help is because they value my opinions and ideas. They know what their goal is, but not how to get there. Working with the client as a team is the most effective way to get the best result.
