Product & Applications Manager for the Ray-Ran & Systech Process Instruments Product Lines.I am the primary point of contact for technical queries relating to my product lines and drive all areas of the business to ensure their performance and the satisfaction of customers.Ownership activities include: providing technical support, maintaining pricing & margins, developing marketing campaigns, assessing competitive landscape and the development of tools and literature for sales and training.I have regular customer interactions such as equipment demonstrations and training, as well as public talks, articles, and management of trade shows.My wider business activities include new product development, bookings forecasting, customer behaviour analysis and the development of company datasets and reports for PowerBI analysis.

For the final portion of the Graduate Programme, I have been working in the Business Team as a Sales Support Engineer. In this role my primary function has been to provide support to Sales Engineers in Eastern Europe and the Middle East. This involves answering technical queries about our products, providing configurations for complex systems and evaluating commercial risk and return for incoming projects.In this role I have also managed our order vetting process, produced reports for customers following specific applications testing I have carried out for them, been involved with customer visits and demonstrations, provided training for customers and new Instron employees and taken on the responsibility for the upkeep and organisation of the Dynamic Systems Applications Laboratory in High Wycombe.I have also taken on additional projects outside of my main role, namely developing Instron’s Lab Health Check tool for the Dynamic Systems Product portfolio and managing its global role out.

For my first project as part of the Graduate Programme I have been working within Operations designing and developing the process for delivering a new company metric measuring our on-time performance for shipment, delivery and installation of our machines as a customer centric approach to improving the Instron customer experience. The introduction of this new process has required significant change management with engagement and buy in from a wide range of stake holders spanning the company being imperative. As a result I have had the opportunity to develop my soft skills by giving training sessions and presentations to a wide range of audiences. I have also hosted weekly meetings with the managers of key departments for the purpose of process review and improvement.In order to deliver the headline numbers for the metric and sub-metrics, data capture, data presentation and process automation have been my primary focus using tools such as Power BI and Excel VBA coding alongside the development of professional relationships with stakeholders in foreign territories.Since it's introduction, the new process has made clear improvements to inter-departmental communication, significantly improved order visibility from the factory to the end user, contributed to quality data by highlighting otherwise undetected issues, produced performance data relating to installation durations and customer expectations and above all driven down lead times for machine availability, improving the reaction time to on-site issues in the process.
