Squadron Commander of helicopter squadron.- Responsible for leadership, welfare and career management of all Squadron personnel (approx 140 aircrew, engineering and support staff).- Responsible for all Squadron operational output and training in UK and overseas.- Core member of Station senior management team with executive responsibilities for base of circa 2,000 personnel.

Responsible for the safety management of 240 rotary wing aircraft, covering ten different fleets. The spread of these aircraft cover a vast array of roles include training, support helicopter operations, battlefield reconnaissance and attack. Running the aviation safety team of SQEP individuals, the areas of responsibility included reporting directly to the 2* Commander JHC on all matters regarding aviation safety and risk management. As the owner of the Air Safety Management System, I am responsible for the co-ordination of the risk management strategy, based around Bowtie XP and a data-based reporting system. Other responsibilities included the direction of the 1st and 2nd party assurance processes and the ownership of the aviation safety publicity and safety training. As a trained Air Accident Investigator, I am also responsible for advising on and supporting accident and incident investigations across the fleets within JHC.
