"The world is moving so fast these days that the man who says it can't be done is generally interrupted by someone doing it." --Elbert HubbardToby has thirty years' experience in software development with ten as CTO across three companies. As a software developer and manager, he’s built and directed many successful computer games across several platforms including producing the highly regarded Creatures series in the 90s. He went on to build a biologically inspired scalable shared virtual world architecture called Alice. As well as powering the world’s most complex online 3D real-time strategy game, it later delivered a unique 3D, adaptive shared space for children in conjunction with BBC Worldwide and Ragdoll Productions. More recently, he was one of the original developers at AI company DeepMind, acquired by Google in 2014, looking at nature’s contribution to artificial general intelligence. As CTO of Ososim, he then designed and developed a general-purpose simulation engine capable of delivering collaborative or competitive learning experiences for the corporate market that cover a wide range of subjects from leadership, through finance to stakeholder management. At Fetch.AI, he used his experience in autonomous agents and the worlds they live in to explore the vast scale possible with decentralisation, and how that might impact general intelligence in the future. Now he acts as an advisor, director and consultant in AI, scaleable virtual worlds, and virtual character intelligence for gaming, training and other applications.
Listed skills include C++, C#, Ios Development, Game Development, and 26 others.
