In November 2021 I accepted a promotion and moved into the position of Cultural History Interpretation Coordinator. Whew! I love what I’m doing and appreciate all who helped the door!On occasion, I still special events for Idella's Tours, which is named for my Great-Great Grandmother, Idella, who was captured at the age of 8 from what we believe is modern day Ghana. Somehow, she managed to survive that journey alone and ended up in Williamsburg County, South Carolina, where she lived until 1941. I owe that little girl everything and wanted to honor her life and her times by telling our stories, the stories of faith, courage, and a fierce determination to live for themselves but also for those whom they would never live to see.
