Senior Manager Operations Control
CurrentLeads the on-shift IOC team delivering the on-the-day operation and accountable for its performance. Management and development of a team within the IOC to ensure engagement, personal development, and individual performance management. Role models and champions departmental values and cultureAccountabilities• Accountable for the on-shift performance and decision making within the IOC –including aircraft, crew, customer, stands, flight planning and dispatch• Accountable for the optimal delivery of the BA operation from a safety, compliance, performance and regularity perspective• Manages and drives the on-the-day team to deliver optimal excellence and collaborate with other departments. Provides shift briefs and de-briefs to the IOC teams• Chair key operational and escalation meetings • Responsible for operational activation of plans, including BCPs and management of all stakeholders including escalation to Global Operations Leadership Team • Manages and creates a collaborative relationship with internal and external stakeholders for the on-the-day operation (e.g., Flight Operations, Airports, Engineering, HAL, ATC authorities)• Responsible for the management of team within operations control and flight dispatch, their engagement, development and performance• Drives a high-performance culture, with strong performance development of a well-trained team• Creates and role-models an open and just culture within the department in relation to safety, reporting and the direction of the department• Responsible for compliance with operational and legal procedures and processes across the IOC mitigating any issues that are identified• Support and delivery of key performance measures such as punctuality and customer recommendation targets • Active participation in British Airways Crisis Management or support rosters where required • Undertake ad-hoc work on an exceptional basis or provide relevant cover for other team tasks
