As a Human Cadaver Tissue Procurement Technician, I was a member of a team of surgical nurses, microbiologists and nurses. Our job was mostly on-call to procure heart valves, load bearing bone, saphenous veins and skin of persons deceased less than 24 hours. This physically and emotionally challenging position was an adjunct to my other full-time.
