Anything can be done given time and resources - the challenge is figuring out whether or not it should be done. That is an early lesson that has served me well throughout my career. Whether I was writing a high performance socket server, building a web based portfolio management system, trying to find the right balance between scalability and security, or juggling several roles simultaneously while trying to help build a kick-ass start-up engineering culture, I have found that a positive can-do attitude and a desire to learn can yield pretty incredible results.I am curious and inquisitive and I have a desire to want to know how things work. That is complementary to my pragmatic approach to problem solving as I am genuinely excited when things just work. I am also a natural teacher and I enjoy sharing what I learn. I have a broad range of experiences writing many types of software and product development and leading teams on a variety of platforms, capabilities, and technologies. I am a capable hands-on leader who is very interested in innovation, agile processes, lean product development principles, and continuous improvement.
