I am a Principal Engineer at the UNSW Water Research Laboratory (WRL). I have been a part of the team at WRL which provides world-class expertise within the field of water engineering since I completed my Bachelor of Civil Engineering in 2015. I am a chartered Environmental Engineer with Engineer's Australia (CPEng) and am on the National Engineering Register (NER).At university my studies focused on aspects of water engineering including catchment modelling, hydraulics and coastal engineering. I graduated with first class honours for my thesis where I used remote sensing techniques in conjunction with various numerical models to improve our understanding of the coastline.In the industry, I have experience in construction of urban water systems, in using physical models for hydraulic testing, and I am an experienced field engineer - collecting and using data for river, estuary and wetland numerical modelling. I am experienced in assessing water quality in both ground and surface water. I have also developed expertise in using remote sensing techniques to improve coastal resilience.I am currently working on the restoration of estuarine ecosystems and coastal adaptation. Using my skills as a field engineer and numerical modeller, I am helping to lead the field in developing strategies to improve entire estuaries along the New South Wales coastline and beyond.As an engineer, I am passionate about the issues society faces living in environments surrounded by water.
