Development and maintenance of workflow software to support the scanning, transcription, and editing of the 1911 England and Wales census. This is mostly written in Ruby, Perl and PHP, backed by a MySQL database.My work also includes web and database development for various other clients of Brightsolid.

My main project is developing a web application that will recommend tools to use in the assessment of the sustainability of new urban developments, and manage the outputs of those tools. This is being developed in Ruby on Rails.Other work includes looking after the project web site, and document creation (mostly in Illustrator and InDesign).

Developing desktop and web-based software to support personal development training workshops. Desktop applications were in C++ on Windows; web development was using a variety of technologies including Java, Perl, PHP and VBScript. We put a lot of effort into internationalising the software; both user-interface and the generated reports.

Computer games development. For the first two years I was a programmer on Grand Theft Auto, with particular responsibility for the Windows version. After that I was lead programmer on a game called Clan Wars.
