Reporting to the Managing Director and on the Leadership Board, my role is to define, prioritise and oversee delivery of a balanced portfolio of transformational change to deliver the Travis Perkins general merchanting strategy (the largest part of c £5BN Group turnover).

DCL are engaged by Wickes to provide programme management and consultancy services.Designed and implemented a new technology model across digital and legacy platforms. The transformation included separating the technology capability from the Travis Perkins Group, selecting and contracting with an offshore delivery partner and planning the portfolio of technology enabled business change.

Elixirr is an agile and disruptive advisory firm which supports clients in the design and implementation of customer and technology strategies based on understanding of customer insights and technology innovation. Toby’s role is a mix of programme delivery and business development for clients in the Retail, Consumer and Technology sectors.Key responsibilities included:• Leading the development of a Multichannel and Digital propositions• Thought leadership (presenting at conferences, blogs, writing press articles)• Collaborating with third party technology companies to develop joint propositions• Designing and implementing multichannel customer strategies• Project delivery lead for top tier clients in the Retail and Consumer sectorSelected achievements while at Elixirr:• Launched and ran a multi-channel trading transformation for a UK fashion retailer• Led the transformation governance on a digital transformation for a UK GM retailer• Developed a technology and business change strategy for a UK high street retailer• Designed a cross channel digital and store innovation strategy for a global digital fashion retailer

As a Director at PwC, Toby’s role was a mix of new business development, project delivery and firm building responsibilities. He was a member of the leadership teams for the Retail and Consumer industry group and the Customer competency team:Key responsibilities included:• Directing business development activities• Developing senior relationships with new and existing clients• Industry expert for Retail and Consumer related clients and cross-industry digital change projects• Commercial management of large client programmes and relationships• Driving the development of client facing value propositions for digital and multi-channel• Leading multi-disciplinary project teams in the delivery of a range of projectsSelected achievements while at PwC:• Led the development of an international digital capability building programme for a global retailer• Designed a multi-channel operating model for a leading UK supermarket• Developed an international eCommerce growth strategy for international luxury brand

Diamond was a firm specialising in the development and execution of strategies based on innovation and the development of new technology. Projects were typically initiated by the senior client team and resulted in the mobilisation of complex multidisciplinary programmes across the business in order to deliver the strategy.As a Principal Consultant at Diamond, Toby’s role was focused on programme delivery new business development. Diamond were acquired by PwC in November 2010 in order to grow digital experience and programme management capabilities at PwC.Key responsibilities included:• Leading the delivery of business change programmes• Managing business development activities across the digital change and retail projects• Leading the consumer industries practice community group, knowledge and networks• Leading multi-disciplinary project teams in the delivery of a range of projectsSelected achievements while at Diamond:• Led the development of a digital transformation programme for a global publishing group• Managed a programme to re-platform multi-channel capabilities at a UK retailer

Toby joined Accenture after graduating from university and benefited from the well regarded training and development programme which developed his core consulting and retail industry skills. Toby was part of the dedicated retail strategy team (rather than the systems implementation team) where his knowledge and insight of retail strategy and process was applied across a range of projects for major UK retailers.
