I am a partner at Sebaly, Shillito + Dyer, a full service business law firm with a national practice. As a business lawyer/litigator, I focus my practice on helping in-house counsel, executives, and employees protect company and personal assets, especially when they are involved in business disputes. I assist my clients with a wide array of matters, including intellectual property, insurance coverage, competitive torts, antitrust, and products liability. Recent disputes I have handled have included issues related to interference with business relationships, products liability, theft of trade secrets, non-compete agreements, insurance coverage, and commercial contract breaches. Examples of recent courtroom successes include:• Following a three week jury trial in Federal Court, my trial team and I obtained a jury verdict in excess of $3 million in favor of an Ohio-based supplier against one of the largest manufacturers of outdoor furniture in North America. • Following a four week trial in Federal Court, along with one of my partners, we obtained a jury verdict in excess of $6.9 million in favor of an Ohio-based diamond dealer and against an international, New York-based diamond manufacturer and distributor and one of the largest De Beers sight-holders in the country.I also assist clients with regulatory enforcement actions, internal, external and government investigations, and compliance investigations. This includes civil and criminal investigations by various agencies including the FDA, Attorney General, OSHA, SEC, FAA, Department of Transportation, Department of the Treasury, FBI, DEA, and state and local law enforcement. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my beautiful family, competing in outdoor obstacle races (e.g. The Warrior Dash and Spartan Run), and playing golf.
