Poverty research leveraging a million-plus line codebase using Stata, Python, Matlab, GIS software, and a variety of tools. Extracting robust causal inference from complex data including spatial, panel, and timeseries datasets. Microeconomic analysis of poverty alleviation and policy evaluation across India using census data, satellite imagery, surveys, web scrapes, and imputation techniques. Built bespoke software to streamline research needs, including a parallelization program that reduced compute time by an order of magnitude.

Conducted Monte Carlo simulations of global food system shocks, wrote white papers on research strategy, and contributed to academic journal articles. Worked to leverage better data and science for decisionmaking at scale: building capacity for anticipatory humanitarian interventions, probabilistic forecasting of multiple breadbasket failure, assessment of food system fragility, and integration of key government agencies across historical silos.

Investigated global agricultural production risks and linkages between food security, sustainability, and climate change, including position papers, academic journal articles, and basic statistical analysis. Coordinated research projects with institutional partners including Lloyds of London, Thomson Reuters, and international institutions such as IIASA, CSIRO, and a consortium of research universities.

Conducted crop growth trials, including the use of ANOVA/MANOVA, PCA, logit and multivariate linear regression techniques primarily in R.

Fulbright grant to Ethiopia for 2015/2016 working in agriculture, food security, and climate change. Conducted Markov Chain Monte Carlo simulations and ANOVA in R using primary survey data designed and implemented by my research team, as well as Random Forest analysis of socio-environmental trends in Ethiopian government data. Performed assessment of the social and economic impacts of using nutrient-dense crops and climate-smart production strategies to combat hunger, malnutrition, and poverty in the Ethiopian highlands, and assessed the impact of climate change on farmer decision-making and food security status in potato-producing highland areas.

Designed and implemented a mixed-methods value chain climate resilience study for the USAID flagship Feed The Future PROFIT+ project in Zambia.
