Experience in the communications and corporate change sectors, coupled with a degree in professional communications and a PhD in leadership development has armed me with a hybrid skill set that blends exceptional client services and effective project management with insightful analysis, analytic thinking, and the ability to distill issues to their essence. A desire to promote positive change in peoples' lives, organizations, and communities underpins everything I do, including consulting with Moxie; facilitating The Virtues Project; teaching within the Tasmanian School of Business and Economics; and my research which advances a character-based approach to developing good leadership.

My research proposes that good leadership begins with good character, and therefore that virtues-development will result in leadership development. To assess this proposition, I will soon be running a project called Virtues @ Work. Virtues @ Work will provide 8-20 leaders with 2 days of virtues development training, using interviews and surveys to explore a) how leaders experience the training, and b) what outcomes result.
