Betfred is a UK-based bookmaker, named after its co-founders Fred and Peter Done. It was first established as a single shop in Ordsall, Salford, in 1967. Its turnover in 2004 was more than £3.5 billion, having risen from £550 million in 2003. As of February 2016, the company has 1,370 betting shops.I was brought in to consult & manage and deliver a complete ground up re-write of the main Data Warehouse, Data marts & analytics platform that drives all the self-service BI and reporting for Betfred’s digital online presence.HighlightsLead the initial team to start the project gradually adding members from the BAU team to bring the platform up to production quality.Dramatically improving the performance, reliability & availability of the Data Warehouse & Analytics Platform Introduced DevOps and implemented a full continuous integration & delivery life cycle.Used agile methodology to build and deliver the new environment.Designed and built a meta data driven ETL platform utilising BIML to automatically build the ETL system.Integrated disparate source data systems including Oracle, SQL, MySQL, AWS RDS, HTTP, SFTP platforms.Managing huge data sets > 10TB in size.Implemented a 3rd Normal Form Data Warehouse (Inmon) and Star Schema at the Data Mart layer (Kimball).SQL Server 2016, SSIS, SSRS with Mobile Reports.PowerBI Analytics via Azure Data Gateway for accessing on premise data.Architected a new on premise hardware platform for the new data warehouse environment. PowerApps for democratisation of corporate data. Allowing other departments and partners to manage master data in a secure manner.

The technology integrates fully with all current PMS's and scales effortlessly to the needs of firms large and small; together with its affordable pricing and 'light touch' delivery, Rekoop enables the enterprise functionality enjoyed by the world's international giants to be equally accessible to the regional SME'sAs part of the founding board of directors I collaborated with our team to develop solutions to a global client base providing time capture efficiency that enable clients to improve fee earner invoicing and increase billing. I have been personally responsible for developing & inventing key elements of the IT offering through integration, desktop, mobile and digital platforms through project managing client requirements and sourcing solutions.This business was developed form concept as a start-up operation and within 5-years has emerged as the market leader of time capture software. I have in this period integrated SaaS and Cloud technologies developing the core SaaS platform and software that Rekoop runs on. I successfully exited the business when it was purchased by Intapp http://www.intapp.com

Directed and developed this start up which embarked on the initial stages of time capture software solutions but based on aligning personnel and business expense accounts to real time, enabling an efficient and accurate expenses process; I was the lead architect of the software and pioneered cloud based technology implementation within the hosting, communications and networked systems.Secured 4 key accounts for Outerin Ltd including Norton Rose who are long term clients with Rekoop Ltd today.

Initially employed by Associates which went through a merger with Citigroup to form this market leader; across my career with Citigroup I played a pivotal role with integrating and enhancing technology to support the aggressive growth of the financial sector with e-commerce solutions and online facilities, globally.Utilised Cisco based network infrastructure and was recognised as a Cisco expert – this project was rolled out across all global sites which included head office, 2 call centres and an entire branch network. Within this time I also supported the integration of 4 company mergers that led to the Citigroup takeover. Implemented and delivered full end to end management of dynamic branding, aggregators portal, instant credit decisioning, B2B relationships and automation plus delivered various projects across the UK, European and USA sites including IP services and IP management, remote access and the design of the new WAN network, global NT domain system and MS Exchange email.

Appointed to deliver a full project management of 2 call centre infrastructures at Manchester & Sunderland, which was a new build development that supported over 200 staff and operated alongside Siemens with network, servers and desktop; achieved project deadline of 6-months and within £.5M budget; designed systems based on Gigabit Ethernet Backbone with 6500’s at the core and 4000’s series; delivered changeover within 48-hours.Managed the planning and implementation of the complete UK IP address migration across all Associates sites including office locations and call centres and was awarded with the highest salary increase in the history of Associates for various developments including the call centre, network and application security project and e-commerce rollout across Europe with£2M budget.

Joined on a 6 months temporary contract and was offered a full time position after 3 months for outstanding work.
