Design and installation of small to medium networks including cabling, jacks, wiring, and software installation.Respond to IT problems and questions reported by client. Monitor network server operations using remote control software or by conducting on-site visits. Perform network diagnosis and troubleshooting. Ensure client servers and workstations are appropriately secured through installation and maintenance of anti-virus and anti-spam measures that are approved and adopted by the client as per my recommendations.Establish backup procedures, implements and maintains backups to ensure security of client information.Install, maintain and update software on computers, including Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office components, related Microsoft products, and other software purchased for specific needs, such as accounting packages, billing systems and so forth.Install, maintain and replace hardware components as needed on computers, including cleaning interior and exterior areas and peripherals as needed.Prepare and re-allocate used hardware as directed.Maintain detailed records of equipment and software distribution to ensure license compliance and plan preventive maintenance tasks.Provide technical input to client to guide and assist in development of IT plans, programs and strategies to address information needs on an ongoing basis.Carry out planned hardware and software purchases, including new and expanded systems, as well as maintenance and upgrade of existing systems.Co-ordinate consultant, vendor client and technical support desks to resolve problems in a timely way.Maintain a database of solutions to past problems and computer resources. Work proactively to verify that systems are working properly and follows-up as necessary.

Started out as a staff accountant and then went into the MIS department. Bascially I was involved with all computer support work for about 50 non networked systems and associated devices; this work involved hardware and software implementation. One thing that I was pleased with in programming was the construction of a magnetic media program before such things were available commercially. Acutally got an IRS letter congradulating the firm on submitting so many returns without errors.

Setup the computer system for accounting, did all aspects of bookkeeping, prepared financial reports, reported to outside agencies and did a little presentation work with outside investment firm (Hood & Strong),
