Responsible for the training and readiness of his Platoon to conduct tactical, ceremonial, and contingency missions in the National Capital Region. Platoon leader of 44 Soldier Light Infantry Platoon in Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment; a platoon charged with full-spectrum counterinsurgency operations in Ghaziabad District of Kunar Province, Afghanistan. Personally led over twenty-five combat patrols in one of the most highly kinetic areas of operation in the Aghan Theatre. Developed governance capabilities in Ghaziabad Province to include facilitating micro-grants to pave 5 kilometers of the most dangerous road in Afghanistan, retaining walls to facilitate the farming economy, a village center, as well as wells to provide drinking water for generations to come. Served as the officer in charge of Obersvation Post Bari Alai, responsible for the welfare and well-being of 35 American Soldiers, 15 Afghan Soldiers and numerous NATO civilian counterparts. Responsible for intelligence collection tasks, as well as the defense of complex attacks aimed at overtaking the position. Routinely employed mortar, field artillery, and aviation assets all while managing troops on the ground to decisively defeat any enemy while minimizing risks to friendly forces and Afghan counterparts within an area of operations the size of any major American metropolis.
