I'm spearheading a multimedia project that aims to spotlight minority stories from Nigeria in a distinct and dignified style.

This is a personal consulting role where I help, advise, and train clients on how to start, make, and improve audio content that is relevant to their target audience.My clients get to improve the production quality of their existing show, launch a new show, or create an audio campaign through tailored advice to help them achieve their objectives.

As Senior Editor of Zikoko Citizen, I helmed the newsroom and led editorial and multimedia newsroom projects on politics, policy, and governance to help and educate young Nigerians on how to take action.- I led the transition of Zikoko Citizen's content strategy and guided my team of reporters to produce in-depth (narrative) feature stories that resonated with the publication's Gen Z audience.- I grew readership and engagement significantly through my keen eye for compelling narratives with big stories I write and edit, and my ability to nurture journalistic talents.- I developed and launched the Citizen Community Reporting Programme (CCRP) with a story I edited that garnered over 15k organic page views in less than 4 days, driving conversation and engagement on social media. CCRP is a multimedia initiative aimed at encouraging citizen journalism across Nigeria.- In one month of joining the team, I led the production of the Citizen Election Report, a comprehensive guide to Nigeria's 4th Republic, highlighting key lessons from the 2023 elections. As an editorial and project manager for the report, I worked with reporters, researchers, designers, and partners in the civic sector, to synthesize complex political events into an engaging and informative narrative, providing valuable insights for both local and international audiences.- In August 2023, my publication was downsized due to “economic hardship”, disbanding my team of reporters. Following the announcement, I personally developed a strategy to help them find new jobs by promoting our work, highlighting our impact, sharing job openings, and advising reporters through the job application process and negotiations. My post-layoff strategy resulted in a 100% success rate, with all of my reporters transitioning to new jobs at respected newsrooms and international organisations in Nigeria and around the world. One of them also got accepted to the MEDIA-EIS Fellowship organized by NCDC.

As a fellow, I developed my skills as a show creator, host, co-producer, and production manager for The Outsiders podcast, a project by The Outsiders Stories.- As the creator, I am charged with determining the topic and focus of the podcast and the format and style in which each episode is presented.- As the host, I serve as the voice of the podcast, guiding listeners through each episode and engaging them with insights and commentary.- As a co-producer, I am involved in all aspects of the podcast's production, working with a dedicated team to handle everything from recording and editing to promotion and distribution.And, as a production manager, I am responsible for overseeing the logistics of the project and ensuring that everything runs smoothly and on schedule. This involves working closely with my consultants, co-producers, fact-checkers, editors, project manager, and art director to maintain the project's ongoing success.*Develop Audio was formerly known as Alibi Investigations.

- As a skilled producer and team lead for this documentary production team, I effectively managed a team of over 10 members to produce high-quality documentaries, widely syndicated weekly TV interviews, and engaging podcast episodes.- During Nigeria's 2023 general election cycle, I worked as a field producer, covering three states - Kano, Enugu, and Ekiti. In this role, I assessed the country's electoral body preparation, registration among residents, and the overall political situation in each state, while centering its GenZ population and first time voters to produce the 'GenZ goes to vote' documentary.- From pre-production to post-production, I supervised and co-directed the entire production cycle, ensuring that each stage was executed efficiently and effectively.- I successfully managed the distribution of our content across various media partners such as Africa Magic, Rave TV, TVC, AIT, and Channels TV. In addition, I ensured our content was available on digital platforms such as YouTube and other paid platforms, reaching a wider audience. Overall, my skills and leadership helped to create engaging and insightful content for a diverse audience.

- I supervised and handled online audience engagement (through social media and newsletters). - I identified potential experts for Republic articles and solicited from writers while working with the Editor-in-Chief, Associate Editors, and Sub-Editors for publications.- I was responsible for providing editorial support through formatting, fact-checking, editing, and reviewing content, especially for digital platforms while we produced print issues.- I wrote news articles and created content about politics, history, science, health, and technology.- I also produced multimedia-incorporated content for social media by infusing audio elements and using engaging, cross-platform storytelling tools.- I was the ‘in-house fixer’ that helped with getting insightful sources to comment on issues for news articles and source stories to amplify and inform Republic’s audience.- Some of my most revered work at The Republic was speaking to mothers and a paediatrician whose work centres on human virology to examine what happens when a child gets COVID. Also, in the days leading up to 2022 World Press Freedom Day, I spoke with Nigerian journalists, researchers, editors, and storytellers from all media about the current state of press freedom in the country. This story got featured in Quartz Africa’s Weekly Brief based on its interest and relevance.- I also covered events leading to the 2023 Nigeria election by writing and providing daily context and analysis to the Republic audience as Today’s Brief under the column ‘The Road to 2023’, which developed into a print issue that featured special cover essays from experts.- In addition to my role as a junior editor (audience), during my stay at The Republic, I was also responsible for project managing the newsroom audio ambitions and its first-ever podcast show.And with my editorial and journalistic contributions to the newsroom, I was promoted to Associate Producer/Editor. However, I didn't officially resume that role.

For the 16th edition of The Future Awards Africa- I was responsible for managing the awards team across several units, from social media, publicity and advertising campaigns, and the awards production team, to decoration, guests and nominees coordination.- I engaged with the award partners and sponsors to ensure and sustain a mutually beneficial relationship.This was a short-term contract role.

- I conducted interviews and produced flagship shows across all the time belts that centred on politics, science, health, and technology. I also produced daily explainers of issues, topics, and subjects that are of interest to the general public.- I was responsible for creating digital and visual media content that aligns with journalistic ethics.In addition to creating multiplatform promotional materials for shows, I was also responsible for driving the social team and ensuring the digital distribution of content.- I directed multimedia content for special events or incidents such as the #EndSARSMemorial and the #IkoyiBuildingCollapse, as well as political events such as the Nigerian Senate's public hearing or review of the Nigerian Constitution.- I also worked as a reporter who interviewed and produced immersive audio-based storytelling documentaries that go deeper into events and topical issues. One of my most prized works is my report on the aftermath of the #EndSARS protests, as well as an investigation into state politicians’ deliberate undermining of the Lagos State DNA and Forensic Centre and its social justice implications (a functional centre would have been the core anchor point for human rights abuses by security agents during the #EndSARS movement).
