2006 - 2011Managed staff of 4 - 8 developers and analysts providing project and production support needs for distributed applications used in processing paper check adjustments, collection items and account reconcilement functions. The 3 applications were used by 5 different lines of business supporting over 1,000 users and were written in Java, C#.net, VB.net and had some mainframe components.Consistently received high marks on evaluations completed by employees and exceeded turnover ratio goals for the department. Managed a team of professionals and instilled ownership for the team in all employees.Led the team through a challenging transition of development responsibilities to Offshore Resources, resulting in a smooth transition and reduction of company expenses.Created the user side of an Adhoc Reporting Tool using Sequel Server Reporting Services, which transitioned report development from IT to the business.Led several projects including: automating Fed Return Items Incoming & Outgoing, consolidating internal systems, upgrading a major vendor application, upgrading software versions and converting some servers to VM Ware. Managed staff of 7 - 11 developers responsible for all aspects of the development life cycle. Developed and supported over 50 applications using MS Access and Visual Basic 6.0. Supported an expanding accounting team of up to 450 employees responsible for Credit Card, CheckCard and ATM Disputes, Teller Balancing, Interest Reporting, Bank by Phone, Settlement and General Ledger (GL) Reconcilement with their technology needs.Process automation led to a continual reduction in resource needs, enabling the department to meet budget commitments and helped to bring about additional opportunities for the department to take on new processes. Between 2001 - 2004 reduced budget annually $300k - $500k.Developed requirements and worked with Technical Analysts for the Mainframe to have data extract files built to be loaded to an application to replace working from a hard copy report. Built business logic for those functions that were repeatable often reducing the number of items touched by 50% or more.Led team through a major redesign of all applications in order to comply with Sarbanes Oxley Regulations. As part of the redesign, several of the processes using MS Access were combined into a few apps and moved to dedicated servers and the data was separated onto its own server from the application. Software was upgraded to VB.net or C#.net.

Managed a growing team of 4 - 8 developers. Developed and supported over 25 applications using MS Access and Visual Basic 6.0. Supported an expanding accounting team of up to 100 employees responsible for Credit Card, CheckCard and ATM Disputes and related accounting functions for these products.Identified several processes for the Accounting departments that were automated using MS Access and Visual Basic. Automation included customer and GL account processing and insured system rules complied with Reg E and Z requirements. Responsible for the completion of all System Development Life Cycle tasks. Saved $200k - $300k on an annual basis.Built applications and managed developers building applications in support of several bank mergers and system conversions. Reducing risk and customer impact. During the Wachovia Merger, many accounting employees were leaving and staff levels were too low to manage volumes. The "go to" application was modified to take on the volume before the systems conversion, which prevented travel expense and potential charge-offs.; share successes with a "sister" department in charge of Lease and Loan Operations. Setup the Official Checks MS Access Database and several other databases to reduce expense and risk.

Worked with employees to review processes for Credit Card Accounting. Redesigned, developed, tested, trained, and supported the new processes using Microsoft Access and Excel. Wrote requirements for Mainframe programmer to request datasets be built that would be downloaded to the server and stored in an MS Access Database. Decision making tools were built to reduce or eliminate the handling time for each transaction saving time and money.Received the "Power of One" award for the Accounting Department, which was given to the employee of the year for each department in the Credit Card Division.
