Employed by the University of Manchester through a Knowledge Transfer Partnership, supported by Innovate UK, on secondment to the Aircraft Research Association on a thirty month project to 'develop, embed and exploit new measurement tools, techniques and fast design methods to advance the state of the art in transport aircraft design'. The project will involve lifetime and dynamic pressure sensitive paint techniques, model deformation measurement and particle image velocity on complex three-dimensional wind tunnel models.

• Supervising first and third year students in fluid mechanics courses in pairs: reviewing examples paper work, checking for knowledge gaps, explaining challenging aspects of lecture material• Demonstrating lab sessions: managing larger groups and instructing them in techniques and theories • Hosting Open Day tours: introducing complex principles to non-specialist audiences

• Coding diagnostic design tool for small scientific consultancy specialising in detonation and combustion • Translated the operating principles from an existing French technical report

• First experience of research, supervised by Professor Joseph Shepherd• Designing & implementing a focused schlieren optical flow diagnostics system • Assisting PhD students with experiments in the T5 hypervelocity wind tunnel

• Helping senior engineers with testing programs; learning role of engineers in a large company • Compact mechanical actuator design project and thermal management tasks
