I am responsible for supporting the Director of Community Development in the creation and implementation of the Community Development Strategic Plan for Prince Edward County. I am also responsible for assisting in the implementation of a “one-window” approach to development, green energy development; tourism related activity and community profile development for Prince Edward County. Responsible for product development, technology implementation and relevant industry led committees regarding the development, planning and marketing of tourism based product for Northumberland County. Northumberland is made up of seven different municipalities, with diverse needs and customers that I am responsible for bringing together different personalities and forging partnerships and finding collaborative opportunities as directed by Premier Ranked Tourism Destination Projected completed in 2010. Specific responsibilities or milestones:- Chair of committee of all county Destination Marketing Officers in an effort to promote a better together working approach to tourism delivery by municipal partners in Northumberland- Responsible for piloting, developing and supporting Northumberland’s On-line Reservation system - the first of its kind for rural Ontario which was adopted by Regional Tourism Organization 8 in May 2012- Instrumental in the development and establishment of the Northumberland Sports Council- Co-ordinator of Northumberland’s Doors Open 2013 project- Developer and facilitator of working groups related to heritage, live theatre, arts and culture, and sports tourism- Chair of an industry led county committee for Tourism Advisory and Destination Development- Developed a tourism industry resource based website to assist small local businesses in developing successful business models that thrive in our communities.
