Responsible for the maintenance and repair of all light vehicles for the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Plan, direct, and oversee all activities of the light vehicle fleet maintenance which consists of:Maintenance- Direct, monitor and schedule the vehicle maintenance for both the scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, scheduled preventive maintenance and coordination of all repairs on a fleet of 1000+ units consisting of light automobile cars and trucks. - Receive, review and prioritize request for service (RFS) for light vehicle maintenance for the Province.- Review, approve, and reject repair estimates from vendors for quoted work, within approval limits. - Submit maintenance reports for approval requests for extensive repairs outside approval limits. - Coordinate, schedule, and audit vehicle maintenance repairs- Assist department managers in resolving fleet maintenance issues and concerns.- Developed fleet maintenance operating procedures that were implemented resulting in streamlined fleet service procedures for less downtime.- Analyze maintenance costs and provide recommendations on fleet utilization and replacement.Procurement- Perform duties as purchasing agent, negotiating delivery of outside service with vendors following the public procurement act.- Responsible for submitting all requisitions for light vehicle maintenance repairs to provincial finance department in provincial Oracle based computerized financial management system (FMS). - Responsible for authorization of accounts payable invoicing.- Complete performance reviews of Vendors- Maintain a complete vehicle repair history in department computerized fleet management system (EMS). - Contract management of Provincial Standing Offer Agreements (SOA) for light vehicle repair, where in place within the Province.
