My competitive drive started years ago as a decorated junior bowler from bowling's "capital" of Wisconsin - culminating in being awarded the equivalent to bowling's "Heisman" trophy, and joining the PBA at age 19. While those days are largely behind me, that inner drive and determination propels me each day in my career and every work achievement I set out to accomplish.I found early success, and used that to continue to drive my career forward. Challenged to do things never done before and continually questioning the status quo is what I am best known for. I also got early exposure to technology and how technology can be applied to solve business problems, and have parlayed that into a healthy "tech bend" to what I do. In today's ever-changing business environment, this is a skill I continue to keep current as the world digitizes.What may not be evident in my background and experience is the credit I get for developing strong and sophisticated teams. Cultivating talent is core to any business success, as I have proudly instilled the discipline, wisdom and my many "Toddisms" into so many that have been a part of my teams - and now enjoy watching them grow and find their own independent accomplishments and career growth.Where I thrive the most are in growth-oriented organizations that possess a healthy amount of entrepreneurial spirit, and places that allow me to take calculated risks with enough autonomy to watch the seeds I plant grow. Having grown up in a family business and running my own business in my high school and college years, much of my approach goes back to playing "small ball" where quick wins, failing fast with calculated adjustments, combined with a high sense of urgency and heightened customer orientation.If you don't find me at work, you'll likely find me in a hockey rink wrangling four teenage hockey players, up north at our land and cabin chasing deer or riding on my tractor, or taking in live sports events or music with my wife. I might also still sneak out to my home bowling alley, on occasion, hanging with lifelong friends.
