Perform a variety of tasks associated with system management and administration includ­ing installing, configuring, monitoring and controlling computing environments. Set up and maintain the system engineering and test environments supporting the program engineering lifecycle activities. Support the planning of system/environment requirements to support lifecycle events and ensure system availability in compliance with project schedules. Resolve system and environ­ment problems and provide recommendations for system repairs and methods for obtaining solutions. Document instructions for installing and configuring product releases and validate instruction and configuration steps. Provide advice and counsel to the program on all matters pertaining to system administration.Schedule, plan, and oversee system upgrades. Develop functional requirements through interaction with end-users and coordinate with development team on systematic enhancements or changes. Specific skills include:- Install new software releases, system upgrades, evaluates and installs patches and resolves software related problems.- Perform system backups and recovery.- Maintain data files and monitor system configuration to ensure system integrity.- Set up and maintains computer systems.- Analyze system faults and troubleshoot and run diagnostic tests on system components to detect problems.- Review and prepare documentation for systems, tests and installation of software.- Perform preventive maintenance on the systems as well as repair to system/environment problems.- Administer systems/environment solutions for multiple projects with varying schedules.- Interface with vendors for trouble calls

- Assist management with oversight of network, server, and desktop solutions for business applications and infrastructure technology- Assist senior managers with network and server planning, engineering, and standard configurations- Provide support in ongoing network engineering reviews in search of improved user experience, performance and cost reductions- Help guide product selection, present recommendations to senior managers, test proof of concepts, and implementation of network solutions which meet current and future business requirements - Manage a small support team including third party offshore help desk
