Serves as the chief legislative and political voice to the CEO, Board of Directors, 250 affiliates, and over 250 thousand advocates. Represents the organization with the Administration, Congress, key stakeholders, and numerous coalitions. Monitors, prioritizes, and develops legislative, regulatory, and advocacy issues and creates regular political updates through internal and external grassroots advocacy communications. Conducts research and analysis in order to develop policy guidance in the form of testimony, technical comments, media quotes, fact sheets, and talking points. Organize, develop, and facilitate regular advocacy trainings and briefings for key activists throughout the country, including lobby days, webinars, and state summits. Responsible for the overall goal and strategy for the government affairs and advocacy department, including budget and staff management.

Team DCMTB is a grass-roots club of mountain bikers, cyclocross racers, and gravel riders. We participate in a variety of cycling centric events focused supporting the local off road cycling community including directing DCCX, an internationally recognized cyclocross race, and DCXC a grassroots mountain bike race. Our footprint in the Mid-Atlantic is continually growing which allows us to give back through donations and volunteer hours. My role as President of the Board is to lead the team through these efforts, develop our strategic plan, and ensure our growth continues.

In 2016, we worked with SolarCity to lay the groundwork for building a field-based campaign operation to harness and tap into their internal assets by engaging with employees and customers. In 2015, we successfully ran a field operation for the Wind Energy Foundation where we built a program to recruit renewable energy businesses to give them a voice in an ever-evolving dialogue when it comes to the renewable energy sector.

Responsible for the overall field operation for A Renewable America, a partnership between the Wind Energy Foundation and the six major renewable electricity trade associations including Solar Energy Industries Association , American Wind Energy Association, National Hydropower Association, Biomass Power Association, Energy Recovery Council, Geothermal Energy Association.

Expanded the federal affairs program from tax reform to advocating for extension of expired tax provisions including the PTC for wind, commence construction for solar, and energy efficiency issues. Created a detailed, targeted strategy to raise the profile of AEE on Capitol Hill while advocating the advanced energy industry's positions in front of Congress and the Administration. Developed internal procedures for the organization including Board of Directors approval process, created synergies between departments, and built internal communication infrastructure for members and partners.

Responsible for developing the national strategic policy vision for the organization on the issue of public lands. Direct and determine the entire public lands legislative agenda for the organization including sportsmen interests, access issues, land designations, responsible oil and gas development, and funding for public lands programs. Designated legislative lead for Sportsmen for Responsible Energy Development partnership.

Implemented comprehensive legislative strategy on various issues related to human-powered recreation and public lands. Worked with authorizing and appropriating committees and subcommittees to ensure adequate funding for programs central to recreation infrastructure on public lands.
