Senior citizens have been my passion for decades. From a very young age, I have always enjoyed the company of seniors, whether it be my own grandparents, elder neighbors, family friends, seniors in my church, or a senior I just happened to be sitting next to on a plane. I have forever enjoyed being in their company to learn from them, soak up their personalities, hear their life stories, and essentially just be surrounded by my favorite group of citizens. I have said for decades, in my opinion, senior citizens are the most appreciative group of individuals on earth. They have much to share and give, but too often their rich histories and knowledge go untapped. This is why I work with seniors today. I have never been more excited in my professional career to report for work each day, because it is not work for me. Working with seniors is my passion. Prior to my role in senior living, I spent 20 years working for a private foundation called the Daniels Fund. Working in the community-focused nonprofit world inspired me every day by the opportunities I had to help others. During my time at the Daniels Fund, I worked in multiple areas to create and implement programs that benefit vulnerable populations, including first-generation college students, people with disabilities, homeless individuals, and my favorite group of course, senior citizens. I worked on countless grants to organizations focused on aiding seniors and loved the opportunities to do so. I felt fulfilled knowing that my work directly impacted the communities I cared so much about.My professional success is based on my ability to quickly develop rapport with others, whether senior citizens, grant recipients, community partners, students, or other individuals. I offer excellent communication skills and the ability to put others at ease. Additionally, I am highly organized with strong attention to detail, which helps me plan and complete projects in a timely manner while maintaining budgets.After 20 years in the nonprofit world, the Covid era helped me realize what I was truly meant to do and I am thrilled to finally be working in senior living. After years of dreaming of being surrounded daily with a group of citizens I think are the most amazing humans, each day brings me more eye-opening experiences with seniors. Today I continue utilizing my empathetic approach, dedicated work ethic, years of professional accomplishments, and passion for seniors to strive for improving the lives of others.-
