Professional Summary:My career uniquely blends entrepreneurship, technology, and business. Growing up with Adam's Pest Control, co-founded by my father in 1971, I developed a deep understanding of small business management early on. My initial interests gravitated more towards technology, starting with early experiences on a Commodore PET and Vic20.Education and Early Career:High school experiences, including business camp and a leadership role in Junior Achievement, coupled with learning to program in 1978 and getting a job as a programmer in 1979 - in 9th grade! At the University of Minnesota, my Computer Science major was complemented by extensive business coursework, nearly amounting to a minor in business administration. My professional path began at a Honeywell R&D division as a Research Scientist (Systems Administrator), then taking a role at Rosemount Measurement, an Emerson Electric division for the opportunity to move into the management ladder, where I managed a team of about 25 and was being primed for senior management when I left.Transition to Adam's Pest Control:Responding to a family need after my dad's partner passed away and his minority partner left, I joined Adam's Pest Control, working alongside my father until his 2011 retirement and my sister Andrea Doop, a long-standing member of the company. This period marked a significant shift in my career trajectory.Technological Innovations and Business Growth:At Adam's, I utilized my tech expertise to build our first computer network and website in 1996. In 2011, we launched Collabetive Services, LLC, leading to the development of Blu Star Field Service Management System in 2015. This CRM, tailored for pest control companies, epitomizes our innovative approach. In 2018, we purchased GPSlogix, a GPS solution and integrated it with Blu Star.Under our leadership, the company expanded from 30 to over 145 employees. We're now focusing on preparing the next Leyse generation to uphold our family legacy.Sports InfluenceRaised playing team sports, I played two years of NCAA Division II basketball and coached and served on a youth basketball board (OMGBA) for 20 years.Conclusion:My career represents a harmonious fusion of technology, business insight, building teams, and family values.
