• One of two original Procket Engineers that developed the PRO/8000 series product line chassis architecture and industrial design• Performed the original FEA calculations that resulted in the PRO/8812 chassis architecture which, on first attempt, passed the NEBS GR63 earthquake, shock, packaged, and unpackaged drop tests• Principle mechanical engineer for the most complex stacked switch fabric PCB card assembly and ejector mechanism to date• A unique switch fabric ejector was designed to apply 600 lbs force and featured a nitrogen spring override system to insure safe installation• Principle engineer responsible for the following designs:• Mechanical design of the 8801 backplane• Complete engineering, mechanical design, documentation and prototyping of a DC power sub-system for the Pro/8801 chassis• Implementing thermal solutions for all PCB’s and Chassis’• Drove the EMI gasket design through successful NEBs GR1089 qualification for the Pro/8801 and Pro/8812 chassis• Drove design reviews, project plans and NPI production releases • Considered the Procket expert for DFM and DFA analysis• Performed tolerance studies for all three of the Procket chassis• Responsible for mechanical component engineering • Administration of the UGS IDEAS solid designer software
