Experienced senior consultant, very flexible, with a history of technical support, release management, and building enterprise reporting process to accommodate multiple and overlapping development teams.I am currently working for National Defense doing application upgrade and support in mixed Windows/UNIX environments on low and high security networks. I am also taking small data migration contracts. I recently moved a bunch of customer data from ACT CRM to MS Dynamics CRM for a lovely US company using SQL Server tools.Prior to this I was a Partner and Application Manager for SimpleBI, building/maintaining BI models, reports and servers for retail businesses using the Cognos 11 Analytics suite. I also worked for CAA Northeastern Ontario designing data migration infrastructure and performing a large migration from legacy systems into Microsoft Dynamics using SQL server, SSIS and Kore Kourier. This was an agile project with a lot of remote work and a lot of activity in Microsoft Team Foundation Server.A bit further back I did time working with Linux servers (lots of them!), Jboss, Axios assyst and Oracle as I was helping to manage a multi instanced application environment at the Department of National Defence. Had lots of fun with Kerberos, Liferay and Oracle Dataguard. A big part of this work was facilitating the communication and timing of the teams involved in the implementation, doing the technical documentation, and resolving the roadblocks and issues. It was great working with good folks from DND and Shared Services Canada and working in high security environments, so much that I would be working for them again.And I still have:Lots of mileage with Cognos and have a pretty good handle on SAP Business Objects IDT and Web Intelligence. I know my way around building and securing a semantic layer and getting a report development practice running. ITIL foundation with a wack of practical experience, and I'm a fan of agile development. I enjoy the challenge of defining the user and developer roles and implementing them in the system. I'll work with the business to build awareness and competency with the BI process and tools.I've dabbled in data modeling and am happy to use ERWIN even with the printing headaches. I have a background in network technology from my MCSE salad days so I'm not afraid to dig into web servers, application servers or routing tables to get things done. I've played with Python and a bit of C as well as some dabbling in Docker virtualization and REST.
