After many years of working for myself I made some significant changes in my life. I sold my ITEX office in the Fall of 2017 and spent some time relaxing, playing with my Photo Booth business and spending time on other things. It didn't take long before I realized I was wasting more time than being productive. So I decided it was time to rejoin the work force. I looked at my time and experience in Radio, Cable TV and Print and decided to take the next step and get into Broadcast Television. WBIR was kind enough to see my potential and brought me on board on October 26th, 2020. I could not be happier. I have been in a enormous leaning curve but I have a great team of people to lean on. The opportunities in this field are immense and still growing. Tegna is a top notch company and I'm excited to be part of the team. They recognize the importance of keeping your pipeline full and have embraced the opportunity to continue to network with my fellow business professionals at New Directions Business Association. So you will continue to see me there each week. I grew up in Omaha Nebraska and Chattanooga TN. I attended the University of Tennessee and received my Diploma in 1982. I worked in Radio and Cable Advertising in sales and management for 15 years then decided to venture out on my own. I have owned Southwest Florida Coupon Magazine, Strategic Advertising which spawned Knoxville First Magazine in Knoxville and Travelhost of the Smokies, We transitioned away from those companies in 2008 when we started to realize that print was on a downhill slide and it was time to move on. We purchased Moonwalks and Such and became an ITEX Franchisee in the mid to early 2000's. We sold Moonwalks in 2014 and sold my ITEX office in November of 2017. I love advertising, Networking and helping businesses grow. I get excited when we help my fellow business people accomplish goals and build their business. That’s part of the reason I started New Directions Business Association. Networking isn’t working the way it used to. I felt there had to be a better way to connect people, educate people and work collectively to achieve your goals.
