Disco is a cloud-native legal technology SaaS startup. The platform provides high-speed ingests of large data sets, canonicalizes and indexes documents for highly responsive search, and analyzes the documents to determine relationships within the corpus. The system incorporates ML algorithms to provide supervised learning recommendations, topic clustering analysis, and to determine similar documents. During my tenure, the company completed two large equity raises including a $60 million financing at a $785 million valuation in 2020, and subsequently went public in 2021.• Recruiting a distributed team of top Engineering, Product, and Design talent to grow the product development team from 30 to 130 while the company grew to over 300 employees overall.• Responsible for driving collaboration between Product, Design, and Engineering to build a detailed Domain Model that serves as the cornerstone of our architectural designs.• Relentlessly reprioritizing and driving the architectural backlogs to identify and invest in the technical improvements that will have the most significant impact on the business objectives.• Defining, and constantly refining, a thoughtful and efficient product development lifecycle.• Implementing an MVP-based development approach to drive velocity and validated learning while limiting waste.• Managing and building cross-functional, two-pizza teams that are properly aligned with product strategy and have the autonomy and ownership to drive feature sets from concept to completion.• Creating engineering budgeting and forecasting models to provide executive-level visibility while also providing insights into the architectural changes that will have the biggest impact on margins.• Implementing the minimum amount of process necessary to drive quality and velocity under constantly changing circumstances.• Collaborating with Sales, Customers Service, Product, and Engineering to deliver the highest priority business outcomes.
