Leveraged a cloud first, enterprise systems early and purposeful use of managed services strategy that helped build revenue from $300 M to approximately $4 B in just over 8 years. Culminated in the company being sold for $27.8 B in October of 2023.Built a world-class IT function through high-performance personnel and maintained exceptional financial discipline during the growth and buildout of the company.

Established, maintained and communicated the organization’s strategy for managing SAP systems for Takeda globally. Led the SAP Center of Excellence (COE) and drove strategic initiatives for the business. Led the global integration of SAP systems and promoted the development, acquisition and implementation of SAP information systems.

Direct all aspects of business systems supporting Takeda Pharmaceuticals USA and supported global affiliates. Responsible for teams and applications supporting all commercial operations including Sales, Marketing, Finance, HR, Supply Chain, Contracts & Pricing, Quality Assurance, Medical Affairs, Legal and Corporate Communications. Core technologies include SAP, Siebel, iMany, Oracle, SAS and SharePoint. Work directly with executive leadership to determine commercial systems strategy, resource and budget planning, and application development and support.

Created and implemented a consolidated IT organization to unify Takeda’s Chief Medical and Scientific Office (CMSO) functions (Research, CMC, Development and Intellectual Property) across Takeda and legacy Nycomed globally. Managed a $40 MM integration budget to accomplish the IT integration efforts.Established global application solutions that allow the functions to share and access data regardless of location. Accomplished this objective while maintaining and minimizing risk to ongoing development projects as well as realizing cost efficiencies.

Led the Chief Technology Office (CTO) organization responsible for Application and Infrastructure Strategy on behalf of the company. Provided leadership and vision to multiple teams responsible for Takeda’s Infrastructure and Application architectures and for solutions deployed across multiple Takeda global companies. Served as the Senior Information Technology subject matter expert responsible for; monitoring new technologies and assessing their potential to add value to Takeda’s business operations, providing reliable technical assessments of proposed solutions, and developing long term strategies for use of core infrastructure and application technologies at Takeda.

Led a 184 (104 internal, 80 external) person team responsible for providing all infrastructure and operations of the IT function to the company and application architecture, development & support services for the Commercial and Research & Development business applications. Major teams in area of responsibility include: Servers and Storage, Networking and Telco, Service Desk, Operations, Messaging, SAP, CRM (Siebel), Documentum, Data Warehouse, Web, Enterprise Reporting, Custom/Package and DBA.

Led a 120 (70 internal, 50 external) person team responsible for providing application architecture, development & support services for the Commercial and Research & Development business applications. Major teams in area of responsibility include: SAP, CRM (Siebel), Documentum, Data Warehouse, Web, Enterprise Reporting, Custom/Package and DBA.

Managed the integration of the Takeda – TAP merger on a full time basis on behalf of the IT function. Selected based on recognition of skills, expertise in function, and leadership potential within the new organization. Primary responsibility was to create integration plans for the IT function. Worked closely with the IT Vice President, the Integration Steering Committee and the Integration PMO to facilitate organization design and develop integrated business processes.

Responsible for end-to-end IT support for the Finance, Human Resources & Administration, Supply Chain, Legal, Intellectual Property, Corporate Services, Office of Ethics and Compliance, Public Relations and Commercial Quality Assurance business areas. Assisted in the support of Sales Operations, Sample Accountability and Marketing Operations. Worked closely with business partners to ensure that work is prioritized, implemented and supported appropriately to meet business needs.

Responsible for business capability development and delivery of large, complex projects in the Pharmaceuticals, Automotive, Media and Entertainment, Construction and Mining Equipment, Publishing and Retailing industries. Provided in-depth functional knowledge for business strategy formulation, development and execution of business change programs, business process analysis, design and implementation, and large-scale information technology systems design and implementation. Also responsible for developing consultant staff through constructive mentoring relationships, administering personnel performance appraisals, and facilitating knowledge transfer to client resources.
