Staff Iii Design Engineer
CurrentWork experience within Fluids System Design for Launch Site Design Engineering (LSDE), with a concentration in Hypergolic Fluid and Pneumatic Systems. Designed and created 3D models, in Siemens NX software, of structural access platforms to interface with flight hardware and equipment in support of NASA's Constellation/Orion program. Was an integral part of NX steering team, implemented to standardize the methods and good practices used while creating and modeling files using NX and Teamcenter software.Designed and sustained subsystems of the following: Ground Support Equipment (GSE) for NASA's Space Shuttle Program, Ares 1-X Test Flight and Constellation's Orion crew exploration vehicle servicing. Proficient design experience in 3D modeling (using Pro-E/Wildfire, Siemens NX and Solidworks) and 2D drafting (using Microstation V8) Experienced in the design and development of architectural drawings, system mechanical schematics (SMS), and LRU parts lists for new installations, as well as sustaining engineering of launch facilities and ground support equipment at Kennedy Space Center.Performed Pressure Vessel/System Certifications of Hypergolic and Pneumatic subsystems for the Space Shuttle Program to comply with national, industry and center specific (KSC) specifications and standards; including ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code requirements.Designed and implemented Ground Support Equipment to service and deservice the roll control system hardware for NASA's Ares 1-X test rocket.Led design and relocation effort of the Solvent Recirculation System for Wiltech Engineering. Utilized Siemens NX and Microstation V8 to create and release engineering drawings. Attended and organized design reviews. Interfaced directly with sub-contractor and design shops to insure system implementation met the requirements of the customer.
